Last night at the Ariston theater in Sanremo, the premiere of Dark Resurrection Vol 0 was held, a Star Wars fan film for which I wrote the soundtrack! This project has accompanied me for the last three years, giving me a series of indescribable emotions in crescendo. I emphasize more than ever that when I approached director Angelo via email I had not the faintest idea of what awaited me.
The evening was memorable, full of magical vibrations that we all felt in that room. As for me, listening to my own music on such a system was a mystical experience!!
I must thank all those who stood by me and encouraged me to complete this mammoth work, my family first of all! I must also congratulate the entire creative team for the excellent work done: the executive production (not to mention the thousand other roles covered) by Fabrizio Rizzolo, the cinematography by Diego Casciola, the concepts by Tommaso Ragnisco that first inspired me at the beginning of this long journey, the grandiose 3D models by Mirco Paolini. I refer you to the end credits which, although long, are particularly important since each of us worked for free.
Speaking of the end credits, Federico Salerno and Deva deserve a special mention. I met Federico at the ROC course (Rock Orchestration & Composition) that I teach at the Rock Guitar Academy in Milan. I like to be informed about my students’ careers and so I knew that Federico’s band had exactly the sound we were looking for the end credits. Federico was enthusiastic about my proposal and in a month provided us with a track with immense potential. Great Deva!
And infinite thanks to Angelo Licata for taking me one step higher, artistically and personally.
