Welcome

Hello and welcome, my name is Bruno Di Giorgi

I’m obsessed with music. Since I learned the first chords on a piano keyboard, I have spent most of my life trying to “hack” the language of music. In my early twenties I earned the Master in Rock Guitar (MCR) diploma in Milan and then worked as a pop/rock guitarist for some years, sharing the stage and learning from a number of renowned Italian artists.

In the meantime, I was more and more drawn by the desire of writing my own music, so I pivoted to composing soundtracks for commercials and movies. I had the chance to experiment with different genres and ensembles, but mostly I focused on the orchestral sound. I tried to collect what I learned and created a course called Rock Composition and Orchestration (ROC), which I’ve taught for several years starting from 2011.

In the following years I approached music from a new perspective. In 2017 I got a PhD in Music Information Retrieval at Politecnico di Milano, and then I joined Apple to apply what I learned and learn a great deal more. At Apple I’ve been developing AI models and algorithms that “listen” and “make” music. In 2026 I joined Spotify to dive deeper into generative AI models for music.
